Bonjour French and Francophiles alike! The time has come to celebrate Bastille Day in style at Le Festival (Brisbane French Festival). Showcasing a diverse and decadent range of music, food, education, and lifestyle ‘à la française,’ this festival aims to marry the best that Australia and France have to offer in a smorgasbord of delights.

Le Festival is the peak of French celebration in Queensland, illuminating French culture and providing an authentic experience. As a premier showcase of all things French, Le Festival celebrates the passion, warmth and spirit of France.

It’s an unmissable three-day festival from Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 7, that offers delectable food and wine, scrumptious cheese tastings, immersive masterclasses and market stalls chock full of French inspired goodies, gourmet treats, arts and crafts, homewares and fashion, travel packages, languages courses and more. With over 100 French and French-inspired entertainers and a market place of over 50 French contributors, you can meander through an authentic Parisian street in the heart of Brisbane city.

With so much to do and see, you’re spoilt for choice! You can: shimmy along with your favourite performances of can-can girls, bohemian jazz and Polynesian dancers, or try your hand at crafting the perfect French perfume (Chanel No. 5, anyone?). Or you can try perfecting the art of making a croissant (or eating one) and see what fabulous fashion the French have to offer! Catch us feeding our inner foodies with masterclasses on French wine, cheese and champagne. We’re trying ALL the cheese and ALL the wines with ALL the French breads tossed in for good measure. Woah, did we say ALL? Yes. You can’t say no to French food.

Coming up soon, mark your calendars this July. Tickets start at $15 for a 3-day pass and $5 for any single day. Get in quick, masterclasses are filling up fast!

Nellie is a writing student who spends more time reading than actually studying. When she’s not watching Gilmore Girls, seeing friends or hunting for another knit sweater, she can be found in her local bookstore purchasing yet another paperback for her to-be-read pile. If you somehow miss her, she can be called back with the promise of a frothy hot chocolate. Just make sure you don’t forget the marshmallows.
