It’s time for all you opera lovers to listen up because we have a treat for you. Opera Queensland will soon be home to the iconic opera, A Flowering Tree! Across three exclusive dates, Brisbanites will have the chance to experience John Adams’ and Peter Sellars’ masterpiece for themselves.

Without giving too much away, A Flowering Tree is based upon an ancient Indian folk tale that tells the story of a woman named Kumudha who has the secret power to transform into a beautiful tree that is covered in precious blossoms. The opera explores themes such as love, magic, power and uncovers that sometimes having a special gift can lead to jealousy as much as it can love.

Directed by Patrick Nolan, Opera Queensland’s production of A Flowering Tree is set to delight audiences with a talented cast featuring the likes of Eva Kong as Kumudha, Adrian Dwyer as Prince and Craig Colclough as the Narrator. We know we don’t want to miss a performance!

Tickets to A Flowering Tree are strictly limited, so secure yours here.
