For many of us, our childhood memories are peppered with images of days spent at the local skating rink, perfecting tricks and working on our speed skate. Until the mid to late 90’s, a pair of roller skates was at the top of many Christmas wish lists. But sadly, like the Tamagotchis and Polly Pockets that are now gathering dust in our parent’s garages, our roller skates have long since been forgotten.

But alas, we have the chance to relive those glory days, as a 70’s Roller Disco is making its way to Brisbane for two days only from Monday 14 to Tuesday 15 August.

As the era that put the roller skating and disco on the map, there’s no better way to Roller Disco than in 70’s theme. Think flares, hot pants, jumpsuits and Farrah Fawcett hair.

Get ready to be transported back to the golden age of disco, as you skate to a soundtrack of the Bee Gees, The Beatles, Wild Cherry and Gloria Gaynor.

Boogie on down to the University of Queensland Roller Rink. Entry and skate hire is free. Groovy! Don’t forget your socks.
