Sandwiches are great, chefs get to experiment with different types of bread, fillings, and condiments. The sandwich trend has been popular over the past few years in Sydney and Melbourne. Recently, Brisbane has picked up on changing food trends and locals are craving the sense of nostalgia that sandwiches provide.
What’s your favourite sandwich on offer at Ham on Rye?
The Tuna Fresh. It’s fresh, clean, and crunchy with a generous and creamy tuna mixture. It’s a perfect option for a quick, healthy, and satisfying lunch.
What’s the most important ingredient in creating the perfect sandwich?
It’s about finding the perfect ratio, size of bread, right amount of sauce, and ensuring the sandwich is not dry, not too saucy, not too meaty, etc. Finding the balance for some of our sandwiches to ensure the cheese is perfectly melted, but the bread isn’t too toasted. Consistency is key.
What makes your sandwiches unique?
We carefully develop our own recipes based on the classics we all know and love. What really makes our sandwiches is passion, dedication, and attention to detail which we put into every one.

What’s the most important ingredient in creating the perfect toasted sandwich?
Mayonnaise on the outside. Using mayonnaise allows us to increase the cooking temperature and get the best sear possible!
