After what feels like hours in line, you finally take the stairs to the Fox rooftop. Dangling light fixtures glow overhead, the music is pumping, and you’re gearing up for a boogie. Life is good. Remember?
Well, drumroll, please—the iconic venue is making its long-awaited return in late 2025 after closing its doors in 2022.
A new era for The Fox
It looks like The Fox is coming back bigger and better than ever. Now under the ownership of the Ghanem Group, this heritage-listed landmark is set to enter a new era as a vibrant, multi-story dining, events, and entertainment precinct in the heart of Fish Lane.
This latest venture adds to the Ghanem Group’s already impressive portfolio of world-class hospitality venues across Queensland—think Donna Chang, Byblos, and Bisou Bisou. But according to Director Adonis Ghanem, taking on The Fox Hotel is their largest and most exciting project yet.
Choose Your Own Adventure
The reimagined Fox Hotel will invite guests to “choose their own adventure,” offering multiple cuisines under one dazzling roof. Catering to every occasion, the revived venue will feature a ground-level public bar and bistro, a gaming lounge with a conjoined bottle shop, and multiple function spaces.

The Fit-Out
Honouring its eclectic past, The Fox will undergo a full interior redesign by Space Cubed Design Studio, embracing an Art Deco-inspired aesthetic. Each of the four floors will capture a different era of the hotel’s colourful history, delivering a multi-venue experience all in one place.
Blending contemporary influences with classic architecture, The Fox will offer an exciting collection of modern dining and drinking spaces while preserving its legacy and heritage features.
