Stop The Sushi Train, A New Japanese Restaurant Is Coming
Warning: big flavours ahead
Whether you prefer your sushi raw or dripping in tempura, all crowds will be very pleased to know that Brisbane City is welcoming a new Japanese restaurant to its culinary hotpot.
Joining the international line-up at Brisbane Quarter is TENYA – a home for traditional and modern Japanese enthusiasts. From hospitality veteran Tony Cheng, whose handiwork also includes the hugely popular Hana Zushi Japanese Restaurant in Sunnybank, it’s a dynamic eating experience, with fresh produce and big flavours.
The simple a la carte menu features tempura, udon noodles, and a range of hot and cold sushi dishes, including the ocean king prawn roll, soft shell crab roll, and flamed grilled beef rolls. Looking for a lunch break pick-me-up? Head on down for the Ichijusonsai – a 3-course set lunch menu from just $45pp.
After dark, the menu is centred around pleasing all palates with kagoshima wagyu, salmon tartare, and chargrilled cuttlefish. Or set up at the glamorous curved bar and take your pick from more than 85 varieties of sake and Japanese whisky, plus Japanese-inspired cocktails, a global wine list, spirits, beers, and tea.
With stunning views across the river to South Bank and beyond, the casually elegant venue also offers a unique VIP experience in the Kaiseki and Omakase room, where the chef will craft a bespoke meal using the best seasonal produce right at your table. Dinner and a show? Catch you there!
TENYA is opening early September.
