Whether you’re craving an elevated, chef-led Japanese restaurant, a viral smoothie joint, or an artsy wine bar, Brisbane’s latest openings prove the city is thriving with fresh culinary talent. Scroll on to discover Brisbane’s newest restaurants, cafes, and bars worth knowing about, and what’s to come.

COMING SOON

The Greenhouse

The latest from the Rebelo Group behind The Wolf Dining and Stanton Brasserie, The Greenhouse is a multi-functional venue poised to take on Newstead’s foodie scene with a point of difference. Set to open later this month, the 220-seat venue will be home to a refined share-style modern Australian menu, sculptural architecture, and charcoal ovens, all within a garden-inspired setting where nature takes centre stage.

Notes Wine Shop

Everton Park has just welcomed a neighbourhood wine shop-slash-bar hybrid. The eight-seat venue is open Thursday to Sunday from 1PM to 8PM, keeping things intimate, considered, and quietly confident. With a rotating wine list spanning local producers and international pours, owner Sarah Nightingale-Hickey has created a cosy, casual space that takes the pretentiousness out of wine tasting.

Sancho Taqueria & Tequileria

From the iconic team behind Oh Boy, Bok Choy! and Farmhouse Kedron, this Stafford-based taqueria will soon serve the authentic flavours of New Mexico to Brisbane locals, paired with a mighty-fine, tequila-heavy drinks list, of course. The inspiration for the venue comes from co-owner Amanda Scott’s family ties to the region, and will be a celebration of culture, flavour, and connection.

What’s Poppin’

It’s Australia’s first dedicated dirty soda shop, and it’s about to open its doors in Fortitude Valley. Founded by Maddi and Will after serving up their iconic drinks out of an equally iconic checkered pink trailer, the shopfront marks a new chapter for the business – one where locals can gather, sip on flavoured sodas, nibble on Butter Boy cookies, and stay for the connection.

OPEN NOW

Birria Boy

It’s official, Woolloongabba’s favourite pop-up Mexican joint is here to stay. Birra Boy has announced the casual dining hotspot will become a permanent offering, serving up their signature goat birria tacos, and more bold, share-style dishes. As for drinks? The offering is just as spirited, with frozen margaritas, speciality tequilas, mezcals, and craft lagers brewed in collaboration with local favourites.

Sprout Artisan Bakery

This beloved Brisbane bakery has finally found its permanent home on Skyring Terrace in Newstead, and it’s a seriously sweet affair. Not only dishing out fresh pastries and crusty loaves, the new Sprout is also putting its own spin on brekkie – with the likes of scrambled egg croissants, brioche burgers, and famed Mont Blancs on the menu.

Yolk. Brisbane City

The home of the elevated bacon and egg roll, Yolk is embracing city life with a new Brisbane City spot in the heart of Queen Street. Now open, with a cosy standing area outside to perch with your coffee and rolls, and indoor seating for 10–12 coming soon – this is brekkie staples at their finest. Head there on your next city coffee run and see what the hype’s about.

Never Enough

A new two-level restaurant and bar where the vinyl selection is as sophisticated as the menu has just opened its doors in Fortitude Valley. Offering social Brisbanites a space to share moments over great food, crackling vinyl, and the occasional twinkle of a disco ball, Never Enough is the latest from Trad Nathan and Tyla Dombroski – the crew behind beloved Brisbane and Sydney venue, Crowbar. Each level will have a distinct presence, with the downstairs focusing on the food, serving as the main dining room for the venue, where the upstairs leaves room for a more relaxed bar setting.

Ember & Ash

Taking over the legendary bones of the former Alfred & Constance, Ember & Ash is the new venue reimagining the way we dine. Catering to all sleep schedules, the landmark venue will be open in Fortitude Valley from 6 AM to 3 AM, making it the perfect setting for sunrise lattes all the way to late-night rooftop boogies. Equipped with a flaming menu of charred tomahawks and smoky aromatics, and an invite-only speakeasy, this is far from your average steak night.

Pompoko Ramen & Bar

Following the raging success of his Byron Bay pop-up, Koji Numata brings Japanese comfort food to Coorparoo. Serving up handcrafted, fish-based broths in a refined but flavour-packed menu, the space itself is adorned with murals and deep timbers, resulting in a warm, relaxed feel that will no doubt become a new local hub.

Eclair At The Bay

As one chapter closes, another opens! Byron’s favourite patisserie is making its way to Brisbane. Home to all the mouthwatering baked goods your heart could dream of – think éclairs, profiteroles, dainty tarts, and craquelins (and more!) – Eclair At The Bay has built a loyal following thanks to Michelin-trained co-founder Pavel Stolarsky’s behind-the-scenes videos. Brisbane, get ready: you will soon be able to taste these viral sweets for yourself. Sign up for updates here.

Ruma Rooftop

In a city that is quickly becoming inundated with the finest restaurants and bars, RUMA is rising to sky level like a balmy breeze at golden hour. Elevated above Little Lane on the corner of Merthyr Road and Brunswick Street, this New Farm newcomer isn’t simply opening its doors — it’s setting a new tone for the neighbourhood. Behind the tactile allure of RUMA is Alkot Studio – the design authority behind some of Brisbane’s most coveted addresses, from Emme on James Street to Pilloni, BOS and Vapiano. Expect to leave a little lighter, a little looser, as though you’ve slipped away for the weekend without ever packing a bag. Get the full rundown here.

Le Royale

Anyday’s newest CBD opening, Le Royale, is Brisbane’s after-dinner escape and the answer to the bar you are never quite ready to leave. Located upstairs from The French Exit, the venue is driven by live music, with rotating house bands reinterpreting familiar pop songs into jazz syncopations. The cocktail list leans into flavour and seasonality, with cinematic nods woven through drinks and dishes. With interiors by Tamsin Johnson and a glowing giallo sienna marble bar, it’s dark, cinematic, and designed for those who love a night out.

NIIWA

A Japanese garden-inspired dining experience has bloomed on James Street. NIIWA pairs modern Japanese cuisine with cocktails and late-night energy, complete with live DJs on Friday nights. Designed for long evenings of food, drinks, and atmosphere, it’s a polished addition to the precinct’s ever-evolving hospitality lineup.

Bar Cooper’s

Bar Cooper’s is going to be the neighbourly spot serving up modern Australian bistro fare for Cooparoo locals. From the dynamic duo behind cult-favourite eatery and Bar Cooper’s next-door neighbour, Snug, Leaham Claydon and Jianne Jeoung have created another community staple celebrating seasonal flavours and Brisbane’s classic laid-back vibes. Just like its menu, Bar Cooper’s interiors are equal parts refined and approachable, with moody, copper-toned touches that set the tone for relaxed weeknight dinners designed to be savoured. Comuna Newstead

For anyone who’s constantly dreaming about Comuna’s tacos, the wait is over. With the space secured, expect earthy textures, open layouts, and a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor dining spaces. This relaxed, vibrant set-up is designed for breakfast burritos that slip into long lunches, and golden afternoons that blur into cocktails consumed over shared guac, and we simply can’t wait. In Teglia Pizzoteca

Inspired by Rome’s casual drop-in pizza culture, Newstead’s newest Italian hotspot, In Teglia Pizzoteca, is bringing a slice of the city to Gasworks Plaza. Serving rectangular pizza in teglia (the Roman-style “pizza by the tray”), the menu centres on focaccia sandwiches, salads, and, of course, pizza. But not just any pizza: each slice is made from 72-hour fermented dough, resulting in a base that’s perfectly crisp yet light. A spritz-led aperitivo list and generous seating round out the offering, elevating it beyond the typical takeaway experience.

The Brisbane opening marks the brand’s first venture outside New South Wales, giving us locals a taste of what southern fans have been lining up for. Positioned in the heart of Newstead, the newcomer feels perfectly suited to the grab-and-go offerings of the area – ideal for quick fix lunches, post-gym refuels, or casual weekend bites. Blending refined dining with a spirited sense of play, Gas Hound pairs a flame-led menu with a distinctly social edge. At its heart is a wood-fired oven, turning out elevated dishes kissed with smoke and embers, while the surrounds nod to classic sporting culture – think electronic dart boards, polished pool tables and live games broadcast across sleek screens. The kitchen reimagines pub stalwarts through a premium lens, heroing quality local produce and considered presentation. It’s a space where polished comfort and playful nostalgia converge; elevated enough for a long lunch, yet relaxed enough to settle in long after the final whistle.
