Introducing Mondrian Gold Coast’s Beachside Ode To The Italian Summer, Burleigh Style

Sun-fed & saucy

By Yana Van Der Byl | 29th May 2025

If a sun-drenched espresso bar and a late-night trattoria set up shop by the beach, you’d get LiTO — Burleigh’s new all-day dining spot that feels like a postcard from the Amalfi, delivered with sandy feet and Gold Coast ease.

Tucked beneath the new Mondrian Gold Coast, LiTO is where Italian summer nostalgia meets local rhythm. Mornings start with Allpress coffee and Calabrian poached eggs; evenings roll into negronis, crisp calamari, and tableside tiramisu (as they should).

The menu, led by Andrea Morigi (ex-Uccello, Jimmy’s Falafels), leans into seasonality, simplicity, and serious flavour. Think hand-rolled pasta, lobster bucatini, rotisserie chicken, and slow-cooked porchetta. There’s also wood-fired bread, sourdough toasties, and a breakfast calzone that’s already asking to be your weekend go-to. It’s the kind of food that doesn’t need over-explaining — just good produce, done right.

Designed by Alexander &CO., the space is Mediterranean texture meets coastal polish. A little Rome, a little Riviera, and just enough room for sandy feet and second rounds.

Whether you’re stopping in for a toastie and a sea breeze or settling in for a long lunch that turns into dinner, LiTO delivers. Warm, effortless, and opening June 5 — just in time to make a slow afternoon out of it.
