The Crew Behind Southside & Rick Shores Have Just Opened An Asian Cafe In Fish Lane

Brought to you by Fanda Group, the team behind beloved dining institutions such as Southside, Marlowe, Central, and Rick Shores, Goodside Cafe is set to serve up all-day comfort food that draws on the traditions of Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

The vibes & the menu
In keeping with the hustling hub that is Fish Lane, the cafe lends itself to no-fuss dining, open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 2 PM; simply walk in, find a table that takes your fancy, or grab your goodies to go. Finding its home right beside fellow Fanda restaurant, Southside, Goodside will offer both sweet and savoury signature dishes like prawn ‘Har Gow’ katsu sando with jalapeño salsa, ‘Lu Ruu Fan’ Taiwanese pork rice bowl, alongside a Baked Coffee Bun filled with cappuccino custard.
On the drinks side, on top of copious amounts of coffee and generous juice pours, specialties include the Lychee Iced Tea with coconut cold foam, the Goodside Iced Coffee with dirty iced tea and condensed milk cold foam, and of course, the Fong Fuego Float – a refreshing watermelon mocktail with coconut cold foam (a nod to Southside’s iconic cocktail).
With vibrant branding that mirrors an equally playful menu, this new kid on the block will soon be a morning mainstay, perfectly placed for relaxed weekend brunches or mid-week lunch pick-me-ups, just the way Benny Lam, Executive Chef of Goodside, Southside, and Central, likes it. He says of his new brunch venue, “The brief was simple: make it genuinely good, not just convenient. Comfort food with a bit of edge. The kind of thing you can eat at 8AM, or 2PM, and you’re already thinking about having it again tomorrow.”
