Say Ciao to Fellini’s: Howard Smith Wharves’ Hot New Italian Hangout

Bellissimo!

By Bianca Licina | 8th September 2025

Think Howard Smith Wharves couldn’t get any better – or tastier? Think again. This September, Brisbane’s riverside playground is welcoming a brand-new hotspot that’s ready to say ciao.

Benvenuti to Fellini’s – a vibrant Italian riverside eatery where authentic Italian street food meets Brisbane’s iconic river views. Perched against one of the city’s best backdrops, Fellini’s offers a relaxed yet refined dining experience, giving a playful complement to its neighbour, Ciao Papi. Together, they’re serving up a little slice of Italy right in the heart of the Wharves.

The vibe? Fun, fast, and full of flavour. Whether you’re grabbing takeaway or settling in for a riverside bite, Fellini’s brings the energy of a traditional Italian trattoria with a modern street-food twist.

Head Chef Carmine Guarino, boasting over 26 years in the kitchen, calls this his dream project. Hailing from Napoli, Carmine wanted to bring his roots to Brisbane with a menu that’s perfect for sharing with the whole family. His goal? Authentic, high-energy Italian street food that whisks you from Naples down the Amalfi Coast – quick, accessible, and irresistibly fun.

Start with Bruschetta al Pomodoro, crispy Cuoppo Fritto, or creamy Burrata Caprese, then move on to pasta favourites like Paccheri al Granchio, Spaghettoni alle Vongole, or Rigatoni Amatriciana. Mains include golden Cotoletta di Vitello, Pesce all’Acqua Pazza, and Parmigiana di Melanzane, while pizzas such as Margherita, Salamina, and Funghi Misti shine from the oven. Finish with Tiramisù or cheesecake, paired with Italian-inspired wines, crisp beers, or handcrafted cocktails. Fresh, fast, and full of flavour, every bite is a taste of Italy by the river.
