King St’s New Italian Eatery Serves The Magic Of Summer Around An Iconic Fig Tree

Those lucky ducks who’ve experienced summer swaying in the breeze of Italy’s Riviera Coast know there’s nothing quite as magical, but Brisbane is getting the next best thing in Fortitude Valley’s latest restaurant and bar.
Bar Gusto is a laid back eatery sitting on the corner of King Street and Gregory Terrace, wrapped around an iconic century-old fig tree. Fresh from a Valoriani Vesuvio Igloo pizza oven, patrons can expect traditional Italian slices, as well as delectable pasta dishes from time-honoured family recipes, and tasty antipasti vibes. A labour of love through and through, the expertly crafted menu will come to life in the modern 190-seater restaurant.
Of course, what’s an Italian feast without its sips? Bar Gusto will be home to an extensive wine list featuring both locally-grown and imported Italian blends, alongside bold-flavoured cocktails inspired by the Italian summer featuring a distinctive Australian twist. From the refreshing Gusto Aperitivo with Campari, Regal Rogue wild rose, and grapefruit soda topped with slices of orange, to the Razzmatazz combining vodka and Chambord with citrus, vanilla, and egg white topped with sea salt for a crisp nip, pull up on the open-air deck and quench your thirst in style.
As the latest addition to King Street’s growing restaurant and entertainment precinct – joining newbies Archie Brothers and Magpie Goose – Bar Gusto’s warm interiors and rich fragrances make for a must-visit this summer. Cin cin!
