Yoko Is Converting Its Upstairs Into A Japanese-Inspired Bar
Catch you on the B-SIDE
Brisbane has officially become a city where it’s difficult to choose which spot to go to for a night on the town. With so many high-quality bars and restaurants sprinkled around the city, we really are spoilt for choice.
And to our delight, another banging bar is about to open its doors and on top of one of Brisbane’s best restaurants. Yoko has introduced a new little sister venue upstairs, B-SIDE. Sound familiar? Stanley Restaurant has just done the same with Stan’s. The more, the merrier!
A celebration of 5 years at Howard Smith Wharves, B-SIDE is inspired by Tokyo’s back-alley Record Bar Izakaya and will be located on the restaurant’s upper level. Designed for pre or post-dinner sips at Yoko, as well as a destination in itself, B-SIDE promises a buzzing atmosphere and unique bar experience.
Something to drink?
If the famous Yoko slushie is any indication of the quality of drinks served at B-Side, we’re in for a treat. With drinks crafted by cocktail connoisseur Matt Whiley, highballs, plenty of slushies, and revamped classics will be flowing all night long. Another round, perhaps?
What’s on the menu?
Even if you’ve come for the drinks, we guarantee you’ll be staying for the food. Serving curated dishes inspired by those found beneath Tokyo train stations, patrons can expect seasonal sashimi sliced to order, seafood plates including kizami wasabi octopus and tuna tataki, as well as wagyu katsu sliders and the must-order B-Side prawn buns. We also hear a miso caramel soft serve is on offer – we’ll take two, thanks.
Opening on 14 October, the first 50 guests will receive a complimentary bowl of chicken miso ramen – what better way to spend a Monday night! Every Monday, Retro Vinyl Sessions will be held where guests can enjoy 80s and 90s tunes whilst sipping and snacking and every Sunday from 8pm, B-SIDE will host a Hospo Mates Night for fellow industry friends to enjoy a special Sunday combo deal.
Have we just found your new favourite bar? I guess you’ll have to try it. Opening on Monday 14 October, make a reservation here.
