Agnes Restaurant Has Unveiled A Major New Menu

Smoky business

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to book a long lunch, overdue dinner reservation, or celebratory night out, this is it.

Fortitude Valley favourite Agnes Restaurant has officially unveiled a major new menu featuring 25 fresh dishes, and it’s kind of a big deal.

The award-winning restaurant has long been known for its moody atmosphere, open-fire cooking, and hard-to-get bookings, but this latest evolution feels like a confident return to what made people fall in love with Agnes Restaurant in the first place: beautiful produce, smoky flavours, flickering firelight, and dishes made for sharing over good wine.

Created by Anyday Culinary Director and co-owner Ben Williamson alongside the Agnes Restaurant team, the new menu draws inspiration from Spanish and Mediterranean cooking while staying deeply rooted in the restaurant’s signature fire-led approach.

Expect dishes like scorched Mallorquin toast with honeycomb, fennel seeds, and guindillas, Catalan-style txistorra roasted in farmhouse cider and lime, and coral trout pil pil with burnt lemon. A few Agnes Restaurant favourites are staying too, including the smoked cured tomato toast and the cult-status sourdough crumpet with yellowfin tuna and crème fraîche.

“Working with fire is the art of managing a primal element, compelling our team to cook with intuition,” Williamson says. “Our new menu reflects this philosophy, stripping back unnecessary elements and focusing on quality produce, allowing the ingredients and fire to speak for themselves.”

The drinks list has also been refreshed, with bright, seasonal cocktails built to match the new menu.

There are also two new set menu options priced at $89 and $139 per person, making it easier to settle in and let the kitchen take care of the rest.

Set inside the venue’s restored 1890s warehouse on Agnes Street, the experience still feels unmistakably Agnes Restaurant, featuring warm lighting, smoky aromas, incredible service, and that intimate energy that makes every visit feel like a special occasion.

Safe to say, you’ll want to lock in a booking sooner rather than later.
