An Art-Infused 7-Course Dinner Is Turning This Brisbane Hotel Into An Edible Gallery
eat your art out
By Matilda Daniels | 25th March 2026Art, food, entertainment, technology – this is the event that merges cultural pillars, culminating on one plate. From now until the end of July, Sofitel Brisbane Central is hosting 7 Paintings, the captivating dinner experience that seamlessly blends culture and cuisine into one immersive experience – and trust us, you want a seat at this table.
Far more than an average night out, feast your way through seven curated courses thoughtfully paired with a famous artist, with interactive riddles, and plenty of moments for creative expression along the way. 7 Paintings is delivering Brisbane an experience that’s as engaging as it is indulgent, and – no surprises here – it’s already selling out.
Feast your eyes
Across two and a half hours, projections, music, and culinary artistry intertwine, inviting guests to become part of the masterpiece itself. From the very first bite to the glorious grand finale, each course tells its own story, designed to be savoured as much as it is seen.
A journey through space, art, and time
Pairing each dish with a different famous artist, the show truly allows you to travel around the world without leaving your seat. Begin in Italy with Taggiasca olives, Mount Tamborine stracciatella, and charcoal tartlet, all set against the iconic works of Michelangelo. From there, journey to the UK, where the rebellious energy of Banksy meets the refined flavours of hand-cut pure Angus eye filet, parsnip, yuzu pickles, and watercress.
Then, Act Three transports guests to Spain, celebrating Pablo Picasso with bold flavours that are just as expressive as his art. In Acts Four and Five, the experience moves to the USA, exploring modern art through Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol, where creativity spills from canvas to plate.
And the finale – well worth the wait – brings things full circle, returning to Spain’s surrealist movement before concluding in the Netherlands with a tribute to Vincent van Gogh. Here, dessert becomes the hero: blueberry cheesecake paired with speculoos sablé, and a decadent trio of white, dark, and ruby chocolate sauces – an ending worth lingering over.
And the best part? Everyone is invited to the table. With child-friendly, vegetarian, and vegan options available, each menu can be tailored to suit individual preferences, ensuring every guest can fully indulge in the experience.
Paint, solve riddles, view iconic artworks, and indulge in internationally renowned dishes – what more could a creative and sophisticated Brisbanite want? Tickets are already selling faster than a Jason Pollock sells at auction, so book your seat and get ready to paint the town red!
