’Tis (almost) the season! For us Aussies, Christmas usually consists of cooking up a feast on the bbq, blasting the air-con, and hoping it doesn’t get any hotter. But, this winter weather has us dreaming of a white Christmas and there are so many events coming up to make you feel like Santa came early. From mulled wines to merry lunches and a whole lotta tinsel, here are Brisbane and beyond’s best Christmas in July events to get you in that festive mood.

Christmas In July at Botany

When: Saturday 23 July

Feel the seasonal spirit at Botany with a delicious three-course set menu and bon-bons lining the table. The delicious spread includes roasted capsicum hummus, slow-cooked tri-tip steak, harissa spiced half-chicken, and a zesty passionfruit cheesecake to finish, sure to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Christmas Lunch at The Long Apron

When: Saturday 23 July

A delicious three-course festive lunch is waiting for you at Spicers Clovelly Estate’s award-winning restaurant, The Long Apron. With the lunch menu set to include Moreton Bay bugs, roast duck, and a seasonal fruit pavlova, this is one Christmas in July event you won’t want to miss. Put on your ugliest sweater and head on down to Tinseltown – the Christmas-themed pop-up taking South Bank by storm. Although it’s not technically a Christmas in July event, the Winter Made Local Market is the perfect place to support Brisbane makers and find an extra special, hand-made Secret Santa gift for your loved ones. With over 100 local makers, designers, artists and creators, head to the Brisbane Showgrounds and peruse the extensive collection.

Christmas in July at Hey Chica!

When: Monday 18 July to Saturday 23 July

It’s a festive fiesta at Hey Chica! Swapping salsa for Santa, they’ll be throwing a week of white Christmas celebrations, featuring themed menu items, a boozy Christmas cocktail menu, and the soft fall of snow to give you the authentic experience. Book here.

Ugly Sweater Lunch

When: Saturday 30 July

Pull on your most questionable knit for a two-course boozy Christmas lunch, complete with a festive roast, cocktails, prizes, and themed entertainment.
