Top 5 Natural Eyeshadow Palettes

Top 5 Natural Eyeshadow Palettes

Natural makeup lovers rejoice!

By Ruth De Luchi | 14th September 2016

You can never have enough neutral eyeshadow palettes. I’ll admit, I have a weakness for them, but I am quite sure I’m not the only one. When a new palette hits the shelves it is hard to simply say, “I have enough neutrals so I’ll leave this one on the shelf”.

What is it that makes these neutral palettes so appealing!? Well for starters, they’re everyday wearable (reason enough!), it’s so easy to mix and match the shades, they make all eye colours pop and, best of all, it’s hard to make a neutral tone look “bad”.

The following are the top five neutral eyeshadow palettes that everyone who is anyone should have (in my opinion, anyway!).

Too Faced Natural Matte Palette

The ultimate neutral palette

Since I purchased this palette, my other eyeshadows haven’t had enough love. It is a perfect range of light, medium and dark matte tones. I love that the base/lighter shades have more product so you don’t use them up too quickly (you know, the usual drama!). You can mix and match all the colours as they work together beautifully. The product itself is smooth, silky, creamy and blendable, with very little fall out –impressive! If all of that isn’t enough, the packaging is small enough to take travelling AND the palette comes with instructions on how to apply three unique looks! Yep, enough said. You need it.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Perfect day to night palette

The first neutral palette I purchased, and the reason for my addiction! This palette revolutionised neutrals forever. An absolutely gorgeous range of colours from soft champagne to gunmetal grey. I love the variety of matte and shimmer tones, which give the palette versatility. Each eyeshadow looks great worn on it’s own as well as blended with the other shades. My personal favourite shade is Smog. Try layering this colour all over your lid and then smoking it out through your lower lash line. OMG, perfection!

Stila Eyes are the Window Palette in ‘Soul’

The fresh face palette

Something unique I have noticed about this palette is that the tones add freshness to your makeup look. This palette has soft, feminine, neutral eyeshadows that give you a delicate finish. One of the eyeshadows, Kitten I also use as a face highlight, which is yet another bonus! The matte black shade is useful for lining your upper and lower lash line to complete the look! Pigmented and blendable, I love this palette.

Bareminerals Ready 8.0 Bare Neutrals Palette

The game changer

Bareminerals have definitely stepped up their game in recent times, especially with their eyeshadow palettes. I love how this palette has majority matte eyeshadows with a few shimmer shades thrown in (that’s what we want!). These eyeshadows have a creamy, blendable formula with 12-hour long-wear staying power. The packaging is sleek and compact, and also has a great sized mirror for on-the-go use. This palette is perfect for creating a striking smokey eye.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

The new M.A.C

I discovered this brand about a year ago and highly recommend it. It is an online makeup store with eyeshadows to die for. The brand has some pre-made palettes that you can purchase or you can buy the eyeshadows separately. Love it! I would suggest purchasing a medium or large Z Palette and then choosing your own eyeshadows. The eyeshadows are M.A.C quality and a quarter of the price! My favourite matte tones are Cocoa Bear, Frappe, Mocha, Bitten and Barcelona Beach. If you are buying ANY products off this website you MUST purchase Grandstand, a foiled (pressed shimmer/pigment) eyeshadow that is absolutely faultless.
