In this exclusive interview, Sonia shares the secrets behind her timeless beauty and gives us the scoop on the launch of her exciting new skincare product.
Hi Sonia, thanks for taking the time to chat with us. I’d love to know what inspired you to create the Radiant Complexion Serum with the team at Three Warriors.
I’ve felt a certain sense of ownership with this brand for years because I was an early adopter and I love that Three Warriors is certified organic and an Australian company. We essentially created this serum because I really like using the TW self-tan products as an alternative to the sun, which causes a lot of skin damage. However, my day job requires a fair amount of makeup and I need to cleanse my face often, so it means my face can get a little lighter than the rest of the body. I thought it would be great if you could combine a skin serum that you use at night, after the rest of your routine, with just the perfect amount of glow, so you wake up refreshed and radiant.
Following the phenomenal success of your wildly successful self-tanning range, did the idea for this innovative new serum arise from a gap in the market?
I did notice a gap in the market for a product that incorporated both tanning and skincare for the face, which is why we worked on such a fabulous and innovative product. Three Warriors was really early when it came to skincare-based self-tanner and I love the self-tan movement has evolved into skin care focused on hydration. It’s wonderful for women to feel that we can look and feel good without the harsh Australian sun.
I’d love to hear about your personal journey! How has your Radiant Complexion Serum transformed your skin health and helped promote your inner and outer radiance?
I’m super proud of this product. I feel fabulous when I put it on, and that’s exactly what I want other Aussie women to feel when they try. It’s a product that keeps me glowing throughout the busy week and I feel a lot more confident leaving the house with less makeup since I still get the perfect amount of glow. It contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and hydrolysed collagen so it hydrates my skin, boosts my skin elasticity, and strengthens my skin barrier, all while evening my skin tone!
Can you walk us through the development process of the Radiant Complexion Serum? What were some of the important factors for you to have formulated into this range?
The efficacy of the formula for this product was so important for us to get right, and it was a journey 3 years in the making! It’s a product that is going to give skin a boost, whatever your age and gender. For me, it just gives skin the look that you’re well rested, like you’ve been on holiday, and that makes you feel great. Getting that perfect formula right percentage of tan for everyday radiance was key. The amount of summer glow is perfect. It’s in addition to all of those other great elements of a serum like hydrating, repairing, brightening and nourishing. When I’m not working, I really like to not have to wear any makeup at all. With this product, I don’t need to apply a foundation or a BB cream. It’s just enough for skin to look even and healthy. You wake up, put on sunscreen, and off you go.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting their skincare journey with your products, what would it be?
I’d recommend that you stay consistent, and you will see results! All you need is one to three pumps of the Radiant Complexion Serum applied to your face and decolletage and the next day you will have the most amazing glow.
I know a big focus for you with this product was to have a strong emphasis on simplicity and efficacy, can you share with us what some of the pain points with the Three Warriors consumers were to make this such a driving factor for you?
A lot of women are time-poor so the more efficient a skincare routine can be the better. Adding a tint to a beautiful serum means eliminating steps to achieving a beautiful natural glowing complexion. Wearing sunscreen, hats and cleansing often can sometimes mean our faces are lighter than the rest of our body so creating the serum addresses and corrects that issue as well as providing nourishing ingredients to maintain beautiful skin.

What is one beauty secret you’ve learned from working in TV for as long as you have?
I learn a lot of beauty secrets from my makeup artist, Simone Forte. She always nails the brief whether we’re shooting for TV or for a magazine. It’s simple but effective, we always allow ourselves enough time when it comes to makeup, and it never fails us.
You’re packing your carry-on luggage – what is one product you can’t live without?
Our Radiant Complexion Serum of course! Skin can get quite dry and dull when travelling on an aeroplane so this acts as a ‘2-in-one’ for me: glow and hydration.

So excited to be working on the Logies red carpet and awards ceremony.
