How Two Brisbane Best Friends Are Redefining Beauty with SEPOE

Girl Coded

By Kiri Johnston | 2nd October 2025

When best friends Claire Hole and Georgia Evans cracked the ultimate girl code, SEPOE was born. Meet the cult brand fusing Korean innovation, science, and everyday cool for a new kind of beauty ritual.

Tell us about yourselves and life before SEPOE

SEPOE is a female-founded beauty brand on a mission to create products that work smarter and harder. Before starting SEPOE, we worked in the pharmaceutical and medical industries as registered nurses. Seeing how medical technology transforms lives made us question why the beauty world wasn’t harnessing the same innovation and how we could change that.

How did SEPOE come to life

With mums in the medical field, we’d always heard about exosomes.

Through research, we realised they were rarely used in beauty – and when they were, the price was sky-high. We set out to make this powerful technology accessible and fairly priced, without compromising efficacy.

What’s the story behind the name

Our name links to our hero ingredient. Exosomes work on an intercellular level, repairing and rejuvenating deep within the skin. In Korean, “sepo” means “cells.” We added an ‘e’ for a modern twist – and SEPOE was born.

How has growing up in Brisbane shaped you and the brand

Brisbane often gets overlooked for the latest products and trends, which only motivated us more. We wanted to create products that are accessible to everyone, no matter where they live.

How would you describe the SEPOE girl

The SEPOE girl is effortlessly cool and low-maintenance – starting her day with Pilates and a matcha, then heading out for a vino with friends. Her routine is minimal but effective, with products that deliver results, like our lip stain and treatment balm.

What sets SEPOE apart from other beauty brands

Our plant-based exosomes. Peptides are incredible, but when combined with exosomes, results go to the next level.

How do you split roles and play to each other’s strengths

We’re yin and yang. Claire is organised and analytical, focusing on compliance and product efficacy. Georgia manages operations, manufacturing, and socials with a creative edge. Our skills balance each other perfectly.

Why is community such a big focus for you

You are who you surround yourself with. We’ve been so lucky to have a beautiful circle of girlfriends who’ve supported us from the start. That sense of connection inspired us to build SEPOE as more than just a product.

We want to create a community that people feel proud to be part of a brand that resonates with their lifestyle and values.

Where do you see SEPOE in the future

We have a few new products in the works and a strong focus on collaboration. We’d love to do more brand partnerships and bring SEPOE pop-ups to different cities, creating unique experiences for our community.

What advice would you give women wanting to start a business

“Just do it” really is the best advice. If you have a passion, follow it. When we started SEPOE, we had no clue how to run a business and no fancy degrees behind us – we just believed in ourselves and our idea. With determination and a supportive community around you, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve.
