FINALLY! This beauty trend won’t require watching YouTube tutorials on repeat, and purchasing numerous brushes and products, only to try attempt after attempt in front of the mirror, give up and decide to get the make-up wipes out in favour of your regular look.

Lipstick is the only beauty staple that even a beauty novice would undoubtably have in their cosmetics bag. It’s the one item that truly flatters everyone, and that everyone has time to apply (Come on, it takes 20 seconds. Max.)

Bright, bold lips can add drama to an existing look or give you the opportunity to downplay your overall makeup while still feeling ultra glam. Lately, I’ve been sporting purples and oranges on my lips to welcome in the spring weather and the compliments have come a-rollin’ in.

But the biggest thing I keep hearing over and over is that people love my unusual colour choices, followed by the question “Where is it from?” So, while I’ll always rock the red lippy, I’ve become more open to trying the other wonderful lip shades out there, too.

Purples

While dark purples are often reserved for winter, the brighter, more playful, paler, or lavender-toned purples are flattering for a spring/summer makeup look. Here are three celebs who have the purple look down pat.

Oranges

Okay, orange shades are little trickier. You don’t want to look like a clown or like you’ve eaten too many Cheetos. Brighter, lighter shades of orange lipstick work well on darker skin tones, while oranges with a hint of red in them are great for lighter skin tones. Here are some celebs that prove that orange really is the new black… er pink?

Pinks

But if you’re not quite keen on jumping into the colourful trends with oranges, purples, greens and blues, there are plenty of bright shades of pinks to ease you in. Talk about hot pink, phwoar!

Either way these are the palettes we think are worth the pout…
