In this digital age, a beauty blogger’s opinion is worth more than almost anyone else’s when it come to makeup products – and rightly so.
There’s a reason we spend waaaaaaay too much time on YouTube and scrolling through blogs to find out their first impression of the YSL Touche Éclat foundation or if the Anastasia Beverly Hills cream contour kit is REALLY worth the hype.
We chatted to five of our fave Brisbane beauty bloggers to find out what products they CANNOT live without and why. It’s time to see what all the fuss is about!
MAC Lipstick in Snob $36, MAC Cosmetics
Jordan launched her blog, Jordy’s Beauty Spot in 2009. From makeup and skincare to hair products and beyond, Jordy knows what’s hot on the shelves and gives honest and in-depth reviews. If there’s something you need to know about makeup, chances are she’s already posted about it.
When asked what product makes her heart skip a beat, Jordy said, “My go-to lip colour for everyday is MAC Snob because it is my perfect wearable pink! It has a dusty muted undertone to it that makes it extremely easy to wear. The matte finish makes it versatile so you can also add a baby pink gloss over the top for a shiny finish.”
Inika Mineral Foundation Powder SPF15 $59.95, Inika
Rebecca Ruhle is a self-confessed beauty junkie. Her Instagram feed is full of amazing skincare, makeup and hair products and glorious packaging.
“My favourite product is the Inika Foundation Powder,” says Rebecca, “because it’s a 100 per cent natural mineral foundation all-in-one that has amazing coverage, finish and longevity. A little goes a long way and I’ve used it every time I wear makeup, either on its own or on the top of a liquid foundation for a super flawless finish.”
BECCA COSMETICS Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal $60, SEPHORA
Hey There Jacquelyn is run by an amazing beauty and lifestyle blogger and Instagrammer whose flat lays give me life as well as serious makeup envy. I couldn’t wait to hear what product she swears by since her feed is full of them.
Jacquelyn says, “Opal is the most flattering champagne highlighter I have ever owned. It flatters so many skin tones and it’s extremely versatile. It can go from a subtle shimmer to an out-of-this-world glow! Be prepared to feel the need to roll around in it before a night out!”
