15 Things Girls with Amazing Brows Always Do

From weak to fleek: these tips and tricks from the pros will up your brow game.

Is anyone immune to the lure of amazing brows? Probably not. They don’t take much product, but they have A LOT of impact… and that impact could be beautiful or disastrous.

If you’ve ever thought “If I had Cara Delevingne’s eyebrows I could take on the world” or “I don’t know what fleek is, but I’d like my brows to be them” then this article is for you. The struggle is real for those with sparse, thin, odd-coloured, barely-there or misshapen brows but we’ve got the solutions to up your brow game for good. Bye-bye, bad brows!

Here are the things flawless eyebrow goddesses do and why you should follow suit:

1. They let them grow out

This sounds basic, but so many people don’t let their brows grow out before having a brow appointment. A fuller brow means more for your professional to work with and more chance that you’ll be able to groom them the way you want.

2. Get them shaped by a professional

You don’t drill your own teeth, dye your own hair a tricky colour (without some mishaps) or give yourself the flu vaccine. If you haven’t mastered shaping your own brows, an appointment with a professional will be extremely beneficial for keeping shape, tone and thickness for your overall brow health.

3. They have self-control when it comes to tweezers

Girls with amazing brows know when to PUT DOWN the tweezers. If you just ccan’t help yourself, get your partner/housemate/relative/pet to hide them around the house. Just remember: the more you pick and pluck, the less they’ll grow back. Eek!

4. They exfoliate… their brows

OK, granted this one does sound a little cray-cray. To be fair, they’re not sitting there especially exfoliating their brows, but when you exfoliate your face you should make sure to get the brow area in. Exfoliation can stimulate hair growth for bolder, fuller brows.

5. They highlight their brow bones

Applying highlighter underneath brow arches will neaten the edge of the brow and make them pop and appear fiercer!

6. They don’t get arch happy

Bold, amazing brows give you a certain allure. It’s tempting to increase your arch bit by bit but you have to stop somewhere. There comes a point where it’s no longer a natural incline or even a vague brow shape. That’s when you start looking downright terrifying instead of mysterious and sexy.

7. They fill them in

And sparingly. You won’t find beautiful brows filled in with big thick lines or un-blended product; it’s all done lightly and with precision to make the appearance of thicker or uniform brows. (No, not unibrows. That’s different)

8. They don’t put moisturisers and sunscreen on their brows

Don’t ask how the brow queens found this one out, we’re just glad they did.  Using moisturisers, SPF sunscreens or foundation over the brow follicles can inhibit hair growth and remove existing hairs.

9. They always show off with their selfies

Come on, if you had brows like Cara Delevingne you would be snap-happy too!

10. Use appropriate #hashtags when posting said selfies

If you’ve got it, flaunt it!  Post to the ’gram to let everyone know how awesome you look with #eyebrowsonfleek, #browgamestrong, #browsonpoint and #browsbeforebros. Of course this emoji also helps. (Insert the girl with the hand)

11. They pick their colour/tint wisely

They know it’s not a decision to take lightly… get it? In all seriousness though, the right colour will make your brows look 10 times better. The wrong colour can make you want to weak sunglasses for the rest of your brows’ tinted life.

12. They learn to layer brow products and live for brow gel

It’s not all about that shape, ’bout that shape. It’s also about the upkeep, and while filling them in is one major must, there are other ways of grooming them to perfection. Layer multiple product and set it in place with brow gel. Brow gel is essentially the same as using hairspray to set your favourite updo.

13. They have a brow diet

Taken out of context, sure, but some foods on your plate can affect your face! Nutritious and healthy food will always trump the havoc chocolate, sugar and carbs can wreak. Eating plenty of foods rich in vitamins A, C and E, as well as (supposedly) rubbing lemon, milk or egg yolk onto your brows directly can help.

14. They invest heavily in their brows

These things don’t just happen overnight. People with great brows invest a lot of time (and money) to keep those arches fab! Sometimes the best brows are professionally done by semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing and you wouldn’t even know it! The best part about those brows is they need no upkeep, no strange diets and will last for ages, saving money and time along the way.

15. They underplay just how good they actually look

“Oh, these brows? I rarely need to touch them. I’m just blessed.” Lies. Eventually they’ll cave and tell you their secrets. Trust us.
