Pingxi Lantern Festival
If you’ve seen Tangled (best movie everrrrrr, just sayin’) then you would’ve swooned over FLOATING LANTERNS. Well, you can do that FOR REALZ at the Pingxi Lantern Festival in Taiwan! You buy a lantern, write your ambitions on it and send it into the sky. You’ll see the sky filled with beautiful lights while you watch yours drift away. Breathtaking!

If you’ve ever wanted to participate in a food fight, head to La Tomatina where you throw over-ripe tomatoes at people! Known as the World’s Biggest Food Fight, 100 metric tonnes of tomatoes are used between the 20,000 people that participate! Pack your old rags because things are about to get REALLY messy!

Cheese Rolling Festival
This is a cheese-lover’s dream! You get to run after a giant wheel of cheese and no one thinks it’s weird! The competition is held annually on Coopers Hill in Gloucestershire, where the first person to cross the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the nine-pound wheel of cheesy goodness. It’s too insane to miss!

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
Take a trip to Albuquerque for the world’s largest hot air ballooning event! The festival spans over nine days and includes balloon rides, live music performances and much more. Look forward to witnessing more than 500 hot air balloons take to the sky in this unmissable yearly event!

Harbin Ice Festival
Harbin is the biggest snow and ice festival in the world and is held for a whole month. Watch and admire extravagant ice sculptures as they light up in beautiful colours, and enjoy fireworks, skiing, sledding, winter swimming, getting up close and personal with Siberian tigers and much more! Rug up and get lost in the illuminated life-sized ice buildings.
