And here’s everything you need to know about scoring tix
News dropped this week that Drake, the Degrassi Alma behind banger tune Hotline Bling, is returning to Australia and New Zealand for his The Boy Meets World Tour.
Three words: about damn time!
Champagne Papi’s last stint down under was his 2015 Drake Tour, and since then he’s dropped a couple of lit tunes such as Energy, Controlla, Fake Love, and the song of summer 2016, One Dance, which came in at #36 on Triple J’s Hottest 100. The Boy Meets World Tour will hit the east coast this November with 6 shows in Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne (soz Perth and Adelaide). If you want to see Drizzy live you’ll need to be prepared as we’ve got a feeling that tickets are going to sell out pretty damn fast. But that’s cool because we’ve got everything you need to know about scoring tix. You’re welcome.
Okay, but before all the ticket info, why should I care?
Because Drake is legit one of the coolest artists creating music right now. He currently holds the record for highest-grossing hip-hop tour, most streamed album debut (384.8 million, beating his own previous record), most number one hits on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Chart, most streamed artist on Spotify and Apple Music, most streamed song on Spotify (‘One Dance’), and way more. Since his Billboard Hot 100 debut in May 2009, he has never not been in the Hot 100 which is pretty insane when you think about it. He doesn’t seem about to slow down and as Drake himself would say, “If you think I’mma quit before, I die dream on.”
What cities are getting lucky?
Australia’s east coast has been #blessed with five shows across three cities.
Tuesday 7th November at Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney NSW
Wednesday 8th November at Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney NSW
Friday 10th November at Entertainment Centre, Brisbane QLD
Saturday 18th November at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne VIC
Monday 20th November at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne VIC
Where can I buy these bad boys?
Your number one stop for tickets is Ticketek
When can I get my hands on tix?
General public sales for the Australian shows are as below:
Sydney Friday 15th September, 1pm
Melbourne Friday 15th September, 3pm
Brisbane Friday 15th September, 4pm
Firstly, make sure your boss isn’t looking over your shoulder as you’re making your purchase. Secondly, get in fast.
How many $$$ will I need to drop?
At this stage, we don’t know the official pricing for the concerts, but tbh we don’t even care. It’s worth it.
Is there a max number of tix I can buy at once?
Like usual, there is a limit to how many tickets you can buy at once and for this tour, it’s 4 tickets per show. If your crew is any bigger than this make sure you have a few of you heading online to make sure no one misses out! No man left behind.
Do we know anything about supporting acts?
Not yet, but stay tuned. We should have some info soon.
Ok, but what should I wear?!
This shirt. Obviously.
