Yes, yes, yes!
Lovers of slick tunes, campground couture and good vibes, pay attention!
We’ve experienced the hype, shared the rumours and suffered through the plain old hoaxes. But the time is finally here. GET EXCITED, because the 2018 Splendour in the Grass line-up dropped. And. It. Is. AMAZING.
ARE YOU READY? (You’re not. You’re really not. It’s gonna blow your mind.)
OK, FINE. We have Kendrick Lamar (!!), Lorde (!!!!!!), Vampire Weekend, Khalid, Miguel, Girl Talk, The Wombats, Ben Howard, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Franz Ferdinand and MGMT.
There’s also some pure Aussie talent including Angus & Julia Stone, Gang of Youths, PNAU, Hilltop Hoods, Ball Park Music, The Jungle Giants, Safia, Amy Shark and DMA’s. Oh, and don’t forget The Avalanches are back again with a DJ only set!
If you’re not already peeing your pants by this point (we won’t judge), you can check out CHVRCHES, Dune Rats & Friends, James Bay, Methyl Ethel, The Bronx, Ocean Alley, DZ Deathrays, Hockey Dad, Cub Sport, Touch Sensitive, Sampa The Great, and a contingent of Aussie female artists who are currently taking over the country such as Alex Lahey, Alice Ivy, Alex The Astronaught, Jack River, Stella Donnelly, Angie McMahon, Nina Las Vegas, Wafia, Mallrat and more. That’s right. Even MORE.
You can check out the full line-up on Splendour’s site.
The hits will be rolling out over three continuous days of glittery, muddy action at North Byron Parklands. Did you have plans from July 20 to 22? Cancel them. You need to be at Splendour.
The year’s talent and music stomping ground will also become home to arts and crafts galore. Oh, and a haven for colourful campervans and tents alike. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, April 19 at 9am sharp and believe us when we say that they sell out fast. Getting these tickets takes commitment, endurance and a dash of pure witchcraft. Grab your mates and every piece of technology you own if you’re serious about securing a spot at the greatest music festival of the year.
In the meantime, start the op-shop crawl to find that perfect oversized denim jacket. We’ll probably end up fighting you for it. Sorry, not sorry – we’ve got Splendour fever!
