Chilly Nordic feels right on the Brisbane River
When you live in a subtropical city the winters can be a little boring, which is why we love any opportunity to indulge in a little chilled, wintry fun. Cue: the Absolut Vodka igloo pop-up bars at Custom House!
These winter wonderland-esque igloo bars have popped up along the Brisbane River and are bringing us some serious Nordic-chill vibes that we absolutely love. In partnership with Absolut Vodka, Customs House is welcoming the winter season with the ultimate winter getaway, right in Brisbane City: a pop-up igloo hut bar! With Nordic-style faux furs, deep armchairs, and fresh Scandinavian décor, these igloos feel like a northern-European dream that will surely have you remembering your last European adventure (or planning your next!).
The tundra effect is mirrored in the drinks menu, which includes a stellar selection of wintry-cocktails (built upon the signature Absolut vodka and Spiced Absolute Winter speciality), carefully selected wines, frothy beers, and spirits. The Arctic vibes wouldn’t be complete without a killer menu, so you’ll be pretty psyched to know there will be decadent cheese platters, hearty venison stew, baby kransky with sauerkraut, and indulgent chocolate fondue (complete with strawberries and marshmallows).
For drinks with a difference, head over to Customs House from 18th May for the coolest drinks in town. The igloo bar will be open Thursday – Saturday from 4pm till late, and Sundays from 12pm – 4pm. Need more info? Head over to The Absolut Igloo Bar website.
Oh, and if you’re like me, create an entire ‘ice’ themed playlist to get you pumped up. ‘Ice Ice Baby’, ‘Cold as Ice’, Ice Cubes entire discography…
