New heritage-style gastropub The Montague Hotel has something for everyone, no matter how high your standard of Instagram food snaps.
Located on the corner of Montague Road and Kurilpa Street, the affectionately nicknamed Monty will draw inspiration from the traditional pub menu with classic home-style foods such as haloumi fries, beer-battered pickles and buffalo wings.
But there are also options for the health-conscious eater, with nutritionist-designed menu items including rainbow wraps, seed salads and Swiss mushroom burgers.
General Manager Stephen Lee says The Montague Hotel will be a venue for all. “We want to be able to cater to the young ‘hip’ crowd moving into the area as well as the older demographic who have been here for years,” he shares.
But food isn’t the Monty’s only focus. Copper beer tanks are the main feature of the bar, where preservative-free brews are available, along with 17 premium and craft beers on tap such as Newstead Brewing, Green Beacon and Fortitude Brewing Co.
Beer not your thing? No problem. The pub will also feature an extensive wine list with more than 19 different vineyards and suppliers, focussing heavily on Queensland and South Australian wines.
With a hand-picked team of the best staff from around the world, you can experience meals prepared by Irish chef Enda Gaffey while admiring the stunning wall mural by local street artist Stewart Shuker.
The restaurant can seat 80 and the whole venue can hold more than 400 – a promising space to work with for the local creative showcases already on the cards.
More exciting information is set to be released before the doors open at the end of the month!
