Ever since Hawthorne’s British Colonial Co. opened its doors earlier this year, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of its upstairs neighbour, The Residence. You can now experience a more refined dining experience with an à la carte menu for lunch and dinner in addition to a contemporary high tea.

At the top of the Victoria Park Golf Club, Brisbane foodies can experience relaxed alfresco dining with a sweeping view of the Brisbane city skyline. The seasonal crafted menu boasts delicious eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a number of daily specials, happy hour and live music on Sundays.

Did you have plans this weekend? Cancel them. The Doughnut Bar has just added their new Butter Pecan Doughnut Cone to the menu! Just when you thought nothing could be tastier than their Golden Gaytime Doughnut Soft Serve, they go ahead and create a hand-rolled vanilla glazed doughnut cone, fill it with butter pecan soft serve and sprinkle it with Arnott’s Butternut Snap cookies. And if Eat Street Markets isn’t your thing, you can stop in at The Doughnut Bar in Wintergarden to get your sweet fix. Shut up and take my money!
History has been made with Brisbane’s first ever gnoccheria officially opening on Given Terrace in Paddington. Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers started out as a popular food truck. Now the four mates behind the project have opened their first restaurant and they’re focuses on one of Italy’s greatest exports: gnocchi!
THREE’S THE CHARM
Jocelyn’s Provisions has opened two new stores this week! On Monday, Jocelyn’s Down Town popped up in the lobby of 480 Queen Street with all of your crusty, crunchy and gooey favourites, along with all of Jocelyn’s famous Christmas treats. And as if that’s not enough good news, on Tuesday the north side was treated to the official opening of Albion Provisions.
ICE COLD, BABY
Brisbane’s favourite new fine dining restaurant, Otto Ristoranté has realised that the folks of the Sunshine State love to cool down in summer with an icy cold beverage, so they’ve just put their own spin on this summer’s biggest trend: Frosé. They use the Vignarosa – Caplino Perlineri from Italy with watermelon, lemon and mint… mmmm delish!

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
Wilston has warmly welcomed NoHo Bar & Grill to Kedron Brook Road and it just so happens to sit right underneath the Style office! From Reuben sandwiches and hotdogs to mac’n’cheese and possibly the best Cobb salad (ever!), the North Houston-inspired restaurant is now a firm favourite with our whole office as we slowly but surely making our way through the tasty menu.
*Style standouts include the Cuban Downtown Sandwich, Traditional Cobb Salad and the Crispy Chicken Burger.
Bruno’s BNE opened last month in Tarragindi and has had us drooling ever since. This week they have unveiled their new French Toast recipe that consists of rose watermelon, strawberries and pistachio crumbs complete with a vanilla ice-cream waffle cone on top. Looks like Bruno’s has the recipe to cool Brisbane down this summer. Plus, it’s pet-friendly!
