In the Style office, with every angelic diet comes a devil’s advocate shouting “Treat yo’self!” It’s usually the person who brings freshly-baked red velvet cupcakes into the office. Or the person who really, really wants a burger for lunch.

The burger craze is stronger than ever, with burger joints popping up all over town. We’ve put together a list of some of Brisbane’s best burgers and it definitely won’t disappoint!

Ben’s Burgers | Fortitude Valley

Tucked away in trendy Winn Lane, this American-style diner has us drooling over their simple yet flavoursome burgers. Bask in the ’90s-inspired décor or kick back in the outdoor area and enjoy one of three tasty burgers. You can also go all out with chili cheese fries, and maybe a brownie or pecan pie for the ultimate cheat day feast. Wash it all down with an OJ, shake, beer or house-made cherry cola or ginger ale.

Brew Master’s | Grange

The owners of this venue had humble beginnings, starting out as mere coffee lovers; now, they’re dishing up world-class burgers and boutique beers and wines. Drop in on a Friday or Saturday night or a Sunday afternoon to listen to their live local music and taste of one their unique burger flavour combinations. There’s Beef & Blue Cheese, Lamb & Tzatziki, Falafel, Tropical, Pulled Pork and Barramundi to name a few… All burgers come with your choice of beer-battered chips or sweet potato.

Chur Burger | Fortitude Valley & Brisbane

Chur (which is Kiwi slang for “awesome”, by the way) serves up gourmet burgers, tacos and tasty bites. The graffiti-covered laneway is the perfect place for a weekend hangout with friends, with games of Giant Jenga and Connect Four available. And there’s something on the menu for everyone! Make sure you try their Signature Burger, which has crispy pork belly, chili caramel, slaw and aioli. Yum!

DA’Burger | New Farm

New Farm’s burger hotspot DA’Burger cooks up DA’vine burgers with fresh locally-sourced produce. The owners support troubled youths that need to get back on their feet and provide a welcoming environment with friendly service. Their to-die-for burgers are large, filling and carefully created to truly satisfy. Those with gluten allergies and intolerances will be happy to know that there are gluten-free buns available at no extra charge!

Getta Burger | Ashgrove, Bridgeman Downs, Carina, Clayfield, Underwood, West End

With six stores located all over the Brisbane ’burbs, Getta Burger is hangover heaven. Forget about calories and try one of their meaty, cheesy, American-inspired burgers, sure to cure all your greasy cravings. They are passionate about producing top quality burgers and satisfying their customers. And don’t forget to try their famous filthy fries!

Grilling Art | Stafford Heights, Underwood, Nundah, Ipswich Riverlink

This suburban gem really does make grilling an art, with homemade burgers grilled to perfection. The large menu has plenty to choose from and the burgers can also be made into wraps for a lighter option. There are also scrumptious desserts to satisfy your post-meal sweet tooth.

KoKobana Superfood Café | Newmarket

Newmarket Reading Centre’s newest edition, KoKobana Superfood Café, now has healthy burgers! There are six heavenly burgers to choose from, and our favourite is the Vege Patch – haloumi, Portobello mushroom, hummus, tomato, lettuce and tomato chutney. The burgers can either be on a seeded bun or charcoal bun (which helps to get rid of toxins and impurities from the body). Accompany your burger with their avo chips and a detoxifying juice!

Miss Kay’s | Brisbane

Another popular American-themed eatery is Miss Kay’s. The CBD location has a warm, inviting décor with even better burgers! Gather up a group of friends and enjoy a tasty feed and cocktail jugs while listening to their live music and DJ sets on the weekends. Be sure to try the Ludakrisp burger and an ice-cream sandwich.

Ze Pickle | Fortitude Valley

Ze Pickle is known for its unpretentious food, creative cocktails, cool tunes and cheeky burger names (Ya Mum, anyone?) Each of the finger-licking good burgers is served with a pickle; for those who are game enough, the Triple Loco burger has triple beef patties, triple jack cheese, triple maple smoked bacon, smoked brisket, iceberg, tomato, ZP sauce, jalapenos and slaw between two grilled cheese sandwiches.
