Blessed with clear days and perma-sunny weather, Brisbane has no shortage of beer gardens.
Living in the sunshine state means we are blessed with clear days and perma-sunny weather. Practically made for beer gardens and sunshine drinking, we hit the town to discover Brisbane’s very best (all in the name of research, of course). Make the most of our glorious weather this spring with some of Brisbane’s best beer gardens and courtyard bars, as selected by a professional drinker.
Canvas Club | Woolloongabba
Tucked out the back and delightfully decked out, the Canvas courtyard is one of Brisbane’s best spots to enjoy a brewski on a balmy evening. In addition to one of the best cocktail menus we’ve ever seen, they also have a generous menu of share plates and tapas that will have you revelling in the sunshine and delighting in everything that is good about summer! And in case you haven’t heard, their bartender Daniel Gregory has been named Australia’s Bartender of the Year at the 2017 Australian Bar Awards! If that’s not a good reason to swing by for a cocktail, we don’t know what is.
Summer House Restaurant, Bar & Café | Kangaroo Point
With ‘summer’ in the name, you can be guaranteed that Summer House Restaurant Bar & Café is the perfect destination for outdoor dining as the weather warms up. Enjoy boutique wines, signature cocktails, delicious tapas, and live music 5 nights a week. Brisbane’s very own paradise!
Eat Street Northshore | Hamilton
Enjoy Sunday on the river at Eat Street Northshore in their very own outdoor bar precinct. With three bars serving up bubbles, beers, cocktails and mocktails every Sunday afternoon, you can enjoy live music and feast on delicious eats from over 70 vendors. Is there a better way to enjoy a drink?
The Wickham | Fortitude Valley
With fairy lights and hanging plants, this iconic Brisbane venue is almost unrecognisable. Built from reclaimed shipping containers and industrial metals, this courtyard has been gilded with growing gardens and gritty street art.
Fitz + Potts | Nundah
Feeling like the holiday home of an eccentric character, this second-floor bar is situated on a gorgeously sunny wrap-around-deck and best enjoyed on warm, idle weekend afternoons. Is there a better combo than craft beer and charcuterie? We don’t think so.
The Triffid | Newstead
Most live music fans will be familiar with The Triffid’s beer garden, which can be enjoyed whether you’re heading to a gig or not. Grab yourself a spot on the recently-installed deck that offers a prime people-watching vantage point. The canteen also serves up a delicious array of eats.
Shady Palms Café & Bar | Stones Corner
This aptly-named bar gives off excellent summery vibes, perfect for an afternoon of sipping and snacking.
Remy’s | Paddington
A favourite for many locals come Sunday for that cosy but lively atmosphere. Try one of their famous cheeseburgers paired with a jug of sangria, the way a Sunday should be spent.
Brisbane Brewing Co | West End
A laneway bar and beer garden all rolled into one. Watch as your beer of choice is brewed right before your eyes. Now that’s service.
