Healthy meals to go – what’s not to like?
If you love quick grab-and-go foods and the taste of Vietnamese bread rolls filled to the brim with beef, pork or chicken, you’ll love the new Nuoc Nook Juice and Tea Bar over at St Lucia.
But a word of caution: Healthy eaters among you run the risk of becoming addicted to Nuoc Nook’s summer rolls (those oh-so-healthy wads of vegie goodness wrapped in Vietnamese rice paper).
Swinging their doors open on the weekend, Nuoc Nook features grab-and-go Asian food boxes, healthy salads and breakfast pots for busy customers who care about the freshness of their food.
Joining the multicultural flavours in Brisbane, Nuoc Nook is ready for hungry foodies who like to seek out a bánh mì thịt (pronounced Bun me thit), or Vietnamese bread roll, for lunch.
A mix of French and Vietnamese flavours tied up in one delicious breadroll, bánh mì thịts – literally bread and meat – usually consist of roasted pork, pâté and pickled or fresh vegetables and herbs. The crust is crusty, the inner workings of the roll are light as air and the overall effect is a delicious, light lunch with a satisfying aftertaste of coriander and chilli.
Also on the menu is Vietnamese chicken salad, beef salad, ham and cheese croissants, toasties, yoghurt pots, smoothie bowls and tea sippers, all made on the premises.
Lunch times over at St Lucia just got a whole lot better!
We’ve also heard through the grapevine that the Brisbane couple behind Nuoc Nook, Pamela Do and Jason Pham, are experienced bakers, which can only mean one thing: bread rolls so fresh they are crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside, as they should be. Savour that smell.
Team Style is always excited to see food places popping up in the suburbs. We preach eat, play, sleep – and repeat.
