Ginger & Smart, C/MEO Collective, and KITX – what more could you want?
The fourth day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia included showcases from C/MEO Collective, Yousef Akbar, KITX, Ginger & Smart, and more.
Sister design-duo Ginger & Smart (who have showcased on the MBFWA runway 12 time) kicked off the day with a playful and dreamy collection that balances polished whimsy with cool confidence. Proudly accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia, the collection was showcased at The Art Gallery of NSW. The muted colour palate was punctured with bursts of azure blue, forest green, and peaches & cream tones, perfectly balancing the looser and more relaxed silhouettes.
C/MEO Collective, with big name fans such as Gigi Hadid, Solange Knowles, Kourtney Kardashian, Oracle Fox, and Margaret Zhang, returned to the runway with another collection of effortlessly cool and undeniably chic garments. Known for their luxe designs yet approachable prices, the collection will surely be hanging in every It-Girls wardrobe this summer. The muted tropical colours created a sexy-yet-sweet canvas upon which the designers could create bold and exciting shapes. Think frills, deconstructed tailoring, and graceful draping.
Kit Willow (of KITX) bought her recognisable aesthetic of rocker-girl cross cool confidence back to MBFWA and the result is flawless. With plenty of asymmetry, ethereal fabrics, and punchy colours, the collection not only looks beautiful but would be easily wearable for any woman.
