All in favour of minimalist dressing say ‘I’.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia has a way of cementing a designer’s place in our hearts and wardrobes. This year, that designer is Albus Lumen; reminding us of the allure and sheer genius of effortless minimalism.
Championed by the likes of Tessa James and Lara Worthington, Albus Lumen has already grown a strong following in its relatively short lifespan. The brainchild of stylist & designer Marina Afonina, this year marked the first on-site showing for the Australian label at MBFWA.
Inspired by Pablo Picasso’s terracotta work from the 70’s, the rustic set made way for a palette of rich browns, soft blues, deep navy’s and vibrant terracotta’s. The simple colour palette was juxtaposed with luxe textures, from full-length, silk dresses to two-piece sets in corduroy.
Accessorising with pared-back leather sandals, bucket hats, bandanas reminiscent of our primary school days and demure carry-alls, the Pablo/Paloma collection has us dreaming of ducking off to Europe for the summer.
