In its 68th year the Carnival of Flowers is only getting bigger, brighter and more extravagant. With a blooming street parade, fabulous food and exciting entertainment you will be spoilt with choice on what to do. Saturday hosts the infamous flower parade, full of floral floats and carnival characters sure to delight. Entry to the public gardens is free, and tours will set you back around $20.

A plethora of adoption companies of all sizes will be meeting to ensure you find your purr-fect furry friend in Brisbane this weekend. Get your new family off on the right paw and pick up all your pet necessities in the same spot. Held at the RNA show grounds you will have from 9-3 to find the newest member of the family. Be sure to pet ready your home, because you won’t leave empty handed.
IRONLAK WATERCOLOUR SESSION | SAT SEPTEMBER 16
Get your paintbrushes ready because it’s about to get wet and wild. Ironlak is hosting a watercolour session where you can get creative and develop your skills. All materials are supplied but spots are limited, so be sure to book your attendance ASAP. Bring a few friends and have some fun painting away.

Find those missing gems of your record collection this weekend at the Toowoomba records fair. With over 30,000 different records, CD’s and LP’s there will be something for everyone. Music will be going for as cheap as $1 with some rare finds to rummage through. Ensure to get in early to grab the funkiest music and records you can find. This will be held at the South Bowls Club and entry is $2.

Get ready to sort through vintage and rare finds galore in Brisbane this weekend at Bizzell’s Garage. With a variety of vintage businesses will showcasing their best items from brands such as Ralph Lauren and FILA. There will be shoes, tops, pants and jackets for all shapes and sizes, so pinching your pennies and clear out your closet because it’s time to get thrifty!
FOOD TRUCKS ON THE GREEN CHERMSIDE | SUN SEPTEMBER 17
Five of Brisbane’s best food trucks will be gathering at the Chermside Bowls Club this weekend to bring you some delicious bites to eat. Enjoy some frosty beverages while playing a sneaky game of bowls (which isn’t just for the elderly). There will be wings, burgers, pizza and ice-cream so its guaranteed you won’t go hungry. This event runs from 12pm-3pm and entry is free.
