Friday the 13th Nundah Cemetery Ghost Tour | Fri, Apr 13
Now it wouldn’t be Friday the 13th if it wasn’t for some spookiness! If you love a bit of a thrill and are interested in finding out more about one of Australia’s most historic graveyards, head to Nundah Cemetery for their specialised Friday the 13th Ghost Tour. Covering only a few acres, every bit of space within this cemetery has been used. The exact number of burials is unknown, but there is believed to be 4000 graves there today. Be led on this intimate historic tour and see over 800 monuments, including ornate stone columns and humble wooden crosses. You will also get to hear 10 real ghost stories and get some interesting facts on some of those buried there, all while within the graveyard. True tales from libraries, former grave diggers, archives and locals. This is set to be a night of eeriness, fright and will leave you checking behind your shoulder.

Melbourne rockers, The Smith Street Band are bringing their national tour to Brisbane so get your ears ready for some of Australia’s favourite rock anthems, melodies and singalong choruses! This tour is the band’s first Australian headline jaunt since the release of their fourth studio album ‘More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me’. Smith Street’s distinctive signature sound will be resonating through the walls of the Tivoli this Friday and following Monday. Although tickets for their Friday show have sold out, they are still tickets available on resale websites and another show has been added for Monday the 16th! Green Day’s explosive and award-winning Broadway Musical American Idiot made its Australian Premiere exclusive to Brisbane in February earlier this year. Fresh from a national tour across Sydney, Adelaide, Darwin and Perth, this Australian, high-octane rock production returns home to rock QPAC’s Playhouse this Friday. Having won a Tony and Grammy Award, this show is set to stun Brisbane audiences with a reimagined set design and lighting display.
The story follows three boyhood friends, who are each searching for meaning in a post 9/11, Trumpian suburbia. Featuring music from Green Day, written and performed by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, the show’s punk rock score has Green Day fans in rapture and has introduced a generation of first-time theatre goers. It’s contemporary, relevant and features some of the country’s most loved musical theatre and rock and roll performers. Come and discover what all of the noise is about. Valley Multicultural Festival 2018 | Sat, Apr 14
Presented by the Brisbane City Council, The Valley Multicultural Festival brings an epic variety of live entertainment, musical performances and dancing all in light of showcasing a variety of cultures to the Chinatown Mall. Coinciding with the end of Youth Week (April 6th-15th), this years’ festival will have a youth focus. Kicking off at 10am, locals will be treated to a packed lineup, which includes acts like Samba Dancer Drummers with their incredible Capoeira techniques, fighting skills, Brazilian martial arts mixing dance, acrobatics, experimental folk orchestra, comedy acts, fire twirling and traditional Japanese energetic art referred to as ‘Wadaiko’, meaning drum. Along with this, the entertainment set to pump up the festival will be brought to you by African muso SK Simeon and Utopia Dance Crews performing Bollywood, hip-hop, K-pop and more.

Summit Club Adventures Clean up event Brisbane | Sun, Apr 15
Enjoy a sunny Sunday and help keep Brisbane beautiful with a plastic and debris clean up. The rubbish will be categorised and the data will be loaded into the Australian Marine Debris database, allowing Tangaroa Blue Foundation to create source reduction plans. This will help local communities to address the cause of marine debris at the course and limit the amount of rubbish created in the first place. Meet at the Riverstage in the City’s Botanic Gardens and keep your ears on alert as there will be a quiz at the end with some sweet Kathmandu prizes. Volunteers are asked to wear enclosed shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy, be sun smart by wearing sunscreen, hats and glasses, bring a rain jacket and stay hydrated with a water bottle.
