Tattoo Cultivator Sailor Jerry enters Brisbane to inspire tattoo lovers alike
Ahoy Matey, the shipping container art show featuring Sailor Jerry’s artwork is docking soon in Brisbane.
If you are a lover of classic American tattoos, pin up artwork or if you were born in the wrong era this is the art show for you.
You will be awe struck by the sheer talent of Sailor Jerry and his designs as you see his original collection of flash tattoos lining the shipping container walls.
Samantha Sheesley cultivates this unique art show and aims to honor the amazing artwork adorned on peoples bodies by Sailor Jerry.
The one-day only show will be featured in a mobile shipping container at Ellaspede in West End on Thursday the 10th of August.
Meet others with a similar passion to you at this unique event, where you can discuss and be inspired by some of the artwork by those who cultivated modern tattoos.
This event will feature live bands like The Owls and Waxx who are often featured on Triple J, and are known for their distinct indie rock sound.
The Owls will be headlining the majority of the shows and matching the vibe of the art show with their 60’s garage/ 90’s alternative rock sound.
Sailor Jerry’s pieces will be supported by artwork by several Australian artists with similar style and passion.
Local tattoo artists will be featured as well including some doing live tattooing. Brisbane features tattoo artist Victoria Rose who is an expert in American style colour tattoos.
The event will contain some never before seen images by Sailor Jerry including original sketches, rubbings, acetate drawings and more.
Come and gain some inspiration for your next tattoo from the designs on the wall and meet some fellow tattoo enthusiasts.
If you can’t make the event be sure to follow the mini doc on SNACKBLETV, the Sailor Jerry AUS Facebook and their Instagram to see the highlights of the shows.
All are welcome to attend as the event is free and open to the public so all walks of life (tattooed and un tattooed) can enjoy and appreciate the art displayed.
