The Rods and Rockabilly Festival is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever.
This May long weekend, the festival will return for its fourth year, with live rockabilly bands, markets, hot rods, bikes, burlesque, art shows, and a pinup pageant, as well as kids’ entertainment.
The popular event hopes to pull another large crowd to support many of Queensland’s local artists, businesses, bands and pinups.
But what makes this event stand out from others is the Pinups for Pink Ribbon raffle fundraiser.
From midday, the festival will host an array of live entertainment; but as the sun sets, the Miss Rods and Rockabilly Pinup Pageant begins. The pageant is all about the glamour of vintage style with a modern rockabilly twist,.
This year, the pageant will see 10 Queensland pinup girls compete for the title of Miss Rods and Rockabilly 2017, with all proceeds raised from the comp being donated to the Cancer Council for research and prevention of breast and gynaecological cancers.
The Rods and Rockabilly event will take place on Saturday, April 29 April at the Hamilton Hotel from 12-11pm. Entry is just $10 per person.
