It’s like Etsy but IRL.

If the thought of a beautiful, locally crafted handmade gift sounds like the perfect Christmas present idea then Etsy have got you covered.
We’re not talking about the online site we all lust over for hand-made goodies but their worldwide markets hitting Australian shores on Friday, November 24 until Saturday, November 25.
Etsy Made Local is set to become a leading local market showcasing the very best of Brissy’s crafty community.
Now in its third year, the Etsy team have brought together a host of market pros and first-timers. With a strict application process and limited number of stalls, you can expect an array of local Etsy artisans at the top of their class.
A point of difference for the Etsy markets is its adherence to the Etsy.com categories and policies. This means sellers must sell either handmade, vintage and/or craft supplies. Just like the policies enforced on the website, at the markets you won’t find fake handmade items or copies of original designs that breach intellectual policy. Meaning you can find 100% genuine and unique works of art (because buying second-hand art is only cool when you know it’s second-hand).
Shopping isn’t the only thing you’ll be doing though, no sir. Running over the two days will be crafting workshops and demonstrations hosted by local talents with a crafty know-how.
Although applications to sell at the markets are now closed you may still have the chance to volunteer as the Etsy team welcomes and appreciates any extra pair of hands.
Taking over Australia in 11 different locations, be sure to hit up Brisbane’s for a unique and thoughtful Christmas gift and to support local creative small businesses.
