Urban Bliss Yoga is taking to Mount Coot-tha lookout to salute the sunrise with the location’s first silent yoga event: Sound Off at the Summit.
On Sunday May 28, more than 150 yogis wearing illuminated wireless headphones pumping energising beats will be led by trained yogi and chiropractor Laura Elliot in a 60-minute class as the sun rises over the city. Silent disco yoga is the latest trend in outdoor classes, allowing participants to block out random urban noises to better concentrate on technique.
Last year, event organiser and Brisbane school teacher Nicola Bone, arranged Brisbane’s first silent yoga class in Brisbane’s King George Square.
Since then, Nicola has organised many successful, sold-out silent yoga events at The Triffid music venue at Newstead, South Brisbane’s MindBodySpirit Festival and the Shorncliffe Pier.
Sound Off at the Summit participants get to recharge their minds and bodies while watching a new day dawn across the city from Brisbane’s best vantage point.
The scenic location will emphasise the pleasure of finding beauty in the natural environment and the importance of taking time out from our busy lives to find moments of bliss.
If this sounds like your idea of a perfect Sunday, Style Magazines is giving one lucky reader the chance to win a double pass to the exclusive Sound Off at the Summit event here.
