Slippage is not sexy
Summer is full of delightful things – but smeared eyeshadow and melting mascara are not on the list. Avoid having your cosmetics melt into your mojito this summer with these helpful makeup hacks.
Although many of us are still confused about what BB stands for, I am able to confirm that a BB cream is a summer makeup must-have. It will act as a tinted moisturiser, which means you’ll achieve your desired coverage without having to worry about whether your face will fall off at any given moment. If a little spot is holidaying on your face, use a CC (colour-collecting) cream to cover.
Some of us depend on powder, I get it. But you’ll be doing yourself more harm than good if you don’t cut the cord this summer. To set your makeup during the warmer months, use a finishing spray instead. Simply spray your face after completing your look. This product is your protection against any potential makeup slippage.
CREAM OF THE CROP
The no-powder tip applies to the eyes as well. A complicated eye look may sound fantastic at first but your lid will be a disaster by lunchtime. A cream shadow will be your best bet and it’s super-easy to apply.
Swim, sweat and cry all you like this summer. To avoid those dreaded racoon eyes, however, one of our makeup hacks is a simple waterproof mascara. It will resist pesky smudges and withstand the humid weather or that tear-jerking rom-com.
STICK ’EM UP
This is the new “it” product from the new “it” brand. The Milk Cooling Water Stick preps the skin before you apply makeup. Carry it around with you during the day for an instant refreshment; it’ll also be your summer festival saviour.
THE MOST IMPORANT HACK OF ALL
Of all the makeup hacks in all the world, the most important one is to prime, prime, prime and prime some more. Opt for a lightweight but heavy-duty primer that will ensure your makeup remains on your face. If the heat just doesn’t work well for you, opt for a hydrating primer. On those disgustingly sticky days, a cooling base is a must.
